INTERNAL TEAM

The internal WAT-GP team currently consists of 13 volunteers, spread out over 8 countries on various continents. This allows us to collaborate with each other from various perspectives and lived realities. The organisation structure can be described as bottom-up, with the following teams: Secretariat, Advocacy team, Training & Resources team, and the Communications team. WAT-GP team members contribute on a voluntary basis for 8-12 working hours per week.

STRATEGIC PARTNERS

  • Jonge Klimaatbeweging (JKB)

    WAT-GP has been founded as a working group from JKB, and became independent. There is still a close collaboration with projects and the annual COP

  • Youth Environment Europe (YEE)

    Together with YEE, the award-winning Global Dialogues Project (GDP) is being organized. The participants consist of Network Members of both WAT-GP and YEE.

  • WWF-NL

    WWF-NL has been an important partner regarding the establishment of the Global Dialogues Project (GDP) which has been presented at COP29, and they are supporting WAT-GP in other ways.

    Oxfam Novib is an important partner that is funding WAT-GP’s projects in the year 2025.

EUROPEAN CLIMATE PACT

WAT-GP is also a Partner of the European Climate Pact, which is a movement of people and organisations united around a common cause, each taking steps in their own countries to build a more sustainable Europe. Launched by the European Commission, the Pact is part of the European Green Deal and is helping the EU to meet its goal to become climate-neutral by 2050. NETWORK MEMBERS

WAT-GP’s Network Members are youth-led organisations that have signed our MoU and that seek to maintain a certain level of communication with other organisations. This category is flexible, as the status of an organisations can move from Network Member to a Project Participant, depending on their year’s plans.

PARTICIPANTS & ALUMNI

The Participants are youth-led organisations that are selected to take part in the NYCA Project or the Global Dialogues Project. These organisations can be either Netwerk Members from WAT-GP or member organisations from YEE (in the current situation). The participants will be supported with their project throughout the year and (if the budget allows it) financially supported to participate at climate conferences like the annual UNFCCC COP. 

The Alumni consist of youth-led organisations that used to be a Network Member of WAT-GP but that no longer has interest/capacity to take part in the projects but would still like to keep connected with other organisations of the network.
